Observing the potential efficaciousness of owning a website, the management, in April 1998, decided to have a web presence.
EasyJet Conservation Initiatives
EasyJet is popular for its eco-friendly measures and in 2007, it announced plans of setting up its own airliner, EcoJet, which promises improved fuel efficiency. In addition, EasyJet passengers are offered carbon offsetting so as to reduce carbon footprint. Another fuel-conservation measure was adopted in February 2011 in which nano-technology coating polymer was used for painting, which resulted in reduced fuel bills. If implemented on the whole fleet, such fuel-saving conservation measure can save costs as much as £14 million.
EasyJet has been criticized on a number of occasions for ignoring regulatory mechanisms, fallacious advertising campaigns and violating humanitarian grounds. For instance, in July 2011, a physically disabled boy was not allowed to travel as he had an electric wheelchair. In another occasion, in January 2017, the airline was fined €60,000 by a French court for hindering the boarding of a disabled passenger.
Most of the low-cost carriers operate one type of aircraft. Likewise, EasyJet had Boeing 737 aircrafts which were later replaced by Airbus A320 family. Currently, the EasyJet fleet comprises of following aircrafts: Airbus A319-100, Airbus A320-200, Airbus A320neo and Airbus A321neo. The sister companies EasyJet Europe and EasyJet Switzerland also operate Airbus A319 and Airbus A320 crafts.
