Lufthansa Baggage Policy
Lufthansa allows carry-on baggage weighing up to 8 kg.
Liquid must be sealed in a proper container and must not exceed 1000 ml.
Check-luggage allowance on Lufthansa airlines is 23 kg for economy and business classes and 32 kg for Premium Economy and First Class.
An excess baggage fee of at least €50 is charged upon exceeding such allowance.
Sports equipment and musical instruments weighing 32 kg can be brought into the cabin. However, prior approval is required to go beyond such limitations.

Lufthansa does not demand separate booking for children of aged 2 or below.
Such children can claim entitlement for 23 kg of baggage allowance.
Unaccompanied Minor service is required for children aged 5 to 11. The service comes with an extra cost of maximum €80.
Expecting mothers, in order to travel, need to bring medical documental evidence demonstrating their pregnancy stage.
For disabled persons, Lufthansa also offers a wheelchair facility .

Lufthansa Major Incidents
A Lufthansa aircraft crashed onto a beach in Rio de Jenario on 11 January 1959. Majority of the traveler died on spot and the primary cause was found to be the pilot’s fatigue.
Another Lufthansa flight lost control and crashed shortly after taking-off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on 20 November 1974. About 55 passengers lost their lives.
Lufthansa suffered four hijacking attempts in the year 1972. The perpetrator, in majority of cases, were militants of separatist groups.
